Seen on the roads of Hamilton
View Full Version : Seen on the roads of Hamilton
I think the locals have not quite got the hang of this whole "writing on the road" thing.
Sure, there have been a credible number of pitchforks and some nice, simple 2-colour graphics, but
then there was this sequence on one section, at about half-block intervals:
ERIK ZABEL
ERIC [whatever; some pro whose name I can't recall now]
ERIC IDLE?
1984 ERIC BLAIR
Now, I'm pretty sure only two of those guys are bike racers.
Saw it from the helicopter coverage of the Men's Espoir race.

Eric Idle is on tour, something like "The Greedy Bastard Tour" keep an eye out for it if you're a
Python nut.
I know the section, and it was Eric Wohlberg, local Canadian pro, who rides for Saturn I believe.
We went out on Tuesday night to paint up the roads, and one of the CBC 'security' guards was telling
us that someone from the organizing committee saw the road paintings and was pretty upset, and that
we might get in trouble...when we left right after...and he didn't take our names...and there were
WAY more paintings that will last longer than ours.
BTW on the pitchfork issue...Devil Man was actually here for the races! I had my picture taken with
him, one of the exciting points of a very exciting week!

Was he smelly?

I would guess he took a shower since he flew. Apparently the guy lives out of his car for weeks
(sans douche) on end when he is at the GTs.

Didn't appear to smell...he just grunted a lot, but then again, I'm guessing his grasp of the
english language is limited...as is my German.
