Signed with Cofidis for 2004, IIRC, that'll pair him up with David Millar.

Any rider that sign before the event takes that chance. They are pros. They know the risks and the
perks of what they do.

Dumbass -
After he's done celebrating, he will be kicking himself. You would too - there may be several
hundred thousand dollars' difference in salary.

If he is kicking himself it would only because he failed to get a contract that rewarded wins. By
your logic, no pro should ever sign before the end of the season. There are obviously benefits to
signing sooner, or else nobody would do it.
Dumbass.

And just the opposite too -- what if he were injured in Hamilton?
Astarola signed when the time was right. Who knows -- maybe his signing "early" calmed him and he
was able to relax and visualize and thus win WORLDS!

And maybe he did have a clause that made it worth his while to win.
Sheesh.

I was impressed that Valverde came from nowhere to snatch silver in front of PVP and Bettini. PVP
slammed his fist on his bars in frustration.

heather- didn't actually get to see the sprint for second, because the canadian channel cut away
right as it was happening to a shot of astarloa smiling. i guess i should be grateful that i got to
see it on tv for once though.
