View Full Version : Introducing Luigi
Luigi is my brand-spanking new Bianchi ML3 with rather nice carbon front forks set off by Bianchi
Celeste shaded frame. It's got Campag Daytona & Veloce mix on it & some FIR wheels on it.
So I'm a very happy Wafflycat :-D

And is Gino to be discarded like yesterday's newspaper, to see out his days in a sad travesty of his
former glory, perhaps delivering newspapers or with flat bars and a wicker basket attached? Or is he
to be put out to stud, to sire a new generation of stereotypically named Italian bicycles?

Oh no. I will continue to ride Gino on a daily basis whenever possible. Luigi is for my forthcoming
pathetic attempts at having a delusion of speed on next year's club 5 & 10 milers ;-)
Luigi has no clearance for mudguards and certainly would never been seen dead with a rear rack -
essentials of my beloved Gino!

Haven't a clue - it's Campag, not Sh*tmano, which is okay by me ;-)

Yes, the same. Great choice, but then I'm biased and really don't like shimaNO.
Personal preference of course, wouldn't like to start an argument :-)

Is Vernon on a sales trip or something? Before, you've always maintained that he provides quite
enough thrills for you :-)

Women, Guy. They love you and leave you for a younger model; one with more gears.

Am I the only person who hates Bianchi Celeste blue/green? My Bianchi is a lovely black and yellow
and I must confess it would probably be another make if they only did Celeste.

Thanks John - the enjoyment is a definite, the turn of speed, however, is a mere dream ;-)

No I hate it too, pity cos my LBS almost got my cash for one, but I went away to think *hard*
about the colour and opted out and then drove a 150 mile round trip to get a Cannondale T800 in
gorgeous yellow!

In that case -- I'm glad I've no taste. Its a horrible colour. A swamp-monster's vomit must be a
less foul colour.

For fifteen years I rode a swamp-monster-vomit-and-purple[1] coloured bike. It's the longest I've
had any bike and I love the bike - but I've never got used to the colour. Now both my current bikes
are black, which is the proper colour for a gentleman's bicycle.
[1] I've alwaya previously described it as 'sea-sick green and purple', but I realise now that it is
precisely the colour of swamp-monster vomit.

No. Don't like the name Bianchi either. Drather have a De Rosa if I had to have an Italian Bike.

Ahh. So good to meet a gentleman of taste and refinement.

Green is surely acceptable, as long as it's of an appropriately sober hue (as per Bentley: "styling?
paint it green!")

I like the more greenish version Bianchi switched over to a few years ago but have they gone back to
the old traditional Celeste that's more blue than green, or is it a third version?
