Lance was just "outed" on the Best Damn Sports Show. Seems that they blew the whistle on his
relationship with whatshername on national TV.

...and I thought it was just us cyclists that were so obsessed with all things Lance that we sit at
our computers and gossip about him like women...

Which best damn sports show is that? The one with Tom Arnold? If so then they probably picked it up
from the usual rumor monger sources. Take with grain of salt, it's entertainment after all.

I'm not saying it isn't entertainment, factual, or anything. I'm commenting on Lance fever spilling
over to national TV.

Then again, if it gets more people out riding, it can't be too bad...

Dumbass -

He's the #3 or #4 rated celebrity/athlete in America.

Your characterization fits every single other American cyclist, even T. Hamilton, but it doesn't
fit LANCE.

Riding who ... er, what?

Sounds like an exam question. "The growth of cycling as a leisure activity in late 2003 and early
2004 was directly related to the rampant affairs of Lance Armstrong, Sandra Bullock and/or Sheryl
Crow. Discuss."

All sport is entertainment. There are sometimes health benefits as well but the primary reason it
exists is to entertain.

Yeah, but there's no health benefit to watching a git like Tom Arnold on a 'sports show' like that.

It's raining and I just snuck in a quick tune-up ride on my bike. It was fun. I'd do that any day
rather than watch the tube.

What about non-spectator sports? I can _kind of_ see doing a sport such as rock climbing or kayaking
be a form of self entertainment, but not as the primary reason for its existence.
