Need opinion: Treadmill Life Fitness Life Stride 9100HR remanufactured
View Full Version : Need opinion: Treadmill Life Fitness Life Stride 9100HR remanufactured
I'm in the market for treadmill and was offered this "commercial" treadmill at my local gym. Like
those offered on the internet this one is also "remanufactured". Here's the link (I see the same
page at many different sites - always remanufactured, never new)
http://www.fitego.com/liffitlifstr2.html
Does anyone have anything good/bad to say about this treadmill? Price is about $1800. + $50. for
shipping/assembly.
Just interested in light/moderate cardio workout about 3 times a week...
Here are the specs (Motor seemed comparatively small at 2 HP):
Contact Heart Rate: Interactive heart rate controlled workouts adjust incline so users stay in their
desired heart rate zone for fat burning or cardiovascular conditioning. Patented Flex DeckT shock
absorption system Patented automatic waxing system 2 horsepower AC motor
1.-9.0 MPH speed (in 0.1 mph increments) % - 15% incline 18" W x 62" L running surface Hill Profile,
Random, Manual, Fit Test programs and Quick Start feature Patented Lifepulse digital and Polar
telemetry heart rate monitors. Motivating readouts of speed, incline, time, distance, calories,
Watts, and METS Self-diagnostic maintenance system
2.5" diameter rollers Painted to Life Fitness 2002 Color Specifications DIMENSIONS: W:31" L:80"
H:48" Weight:340lbs
Thanks in advance.
$1800 FRICKIN' DOLLARS??? RU nutz? You can get a NEW Nordictrack 910 eliptical trainer for $600 to
$800, that is probably equal to (as far as commercial quality) the one your considering.

For the type of workouts that you want to do, this _really_ sounds like overkill to me.
You might want to consider something like a 'Proform' Elliptical machine.

Bill, writing from his room in the Sunnydale Psychiatric Treatment Center, is right.
The 'mill looks good in the gym now, but you'll get it home and it'll be BIG and heavy and used.
Shop around.

<P.S. They don't call them patients anymore, Bill is a 'client'
Don't worry about the motor being two hp as long as that is rated for continuous duty and ideally a
DC motor, but this is an AC (generally DC is quieter). As for the treadmill itself, I don't
personally know the brand but the references I have seen like it.
What warrantee is offered? You may want to consider an extended warrantee on this one if
offered, and I seldom suggest an extended warrantee.
What does your local gym say? Do you trust them?

Ah, I see the problem, you're nutz! Why are you so convinced I'm Woger? Is it my superfluous use of
verbiage? Is it my tendency to poke fun at you? Yes these are Woger like qualities, but they can not
be regarded as unique on this rather large web.

No, not hung up, just trying to clarify. You see, you're often confused and unclear (must be the
medication) so I'm not really sure what you're thinking. Not that I really care. I do believe though
that you'd be more thoroughly annoyed if were sure I really am here in Canada thumbing my nose at
you, "and that my dear Wobbot" would be a good thing.
Surf
P.S. I really don't get this whole Frasier thing. I thing MM is a dork. I think you may be MM.
P.P. If I really am Woger I must never sleep, what with the four hour time difference.

Believe me when I tell you, if you did you'd go mad in a moment. Mortals can't handle the
combination of testosterone and brain juices that flow through us scots.

Yeah gee, a WHOLE 4 hour time difference, I guess that'd rule that out allright!

I have the 9500HR model - its the same basic machine as the 9100HR only with the motor positioned a
little differently - Its a good reliable machine. Exactly the same one that's used in all the local
gyms (24 hour fitness). The only things I would warn you about is that it's BIG - you will need a
lot of room to put it into the house, and you will need help if you ever want to move it. Also, its
loud - very loud - the neighbors will know what you have on tv or the stereo when you are running
because you will have the volume way up. other than that I love mine - trained for two marathons on
it, putting on a lot of miles. it was very reliable and never gave any problems at all (until I
moved and dropped it trying to push it up a flight of stairs.)

it's the same model as the ones where i work out. they are very smooth and solid. altho heavy, you
can pick up one end and roll them around pretty easily. the ones i'm familiar with require 20 amp
circuits. you'd better check.
also, this is a light commercial machine. repairs will cost you a mint. and i mean a mint. the
electronic motor control module went on one machine after about 3 years. it cost more than $1500 cdn
to replace. can you afford that?
you might be better to check out cheaper new treadmills. they will not last but you'll be ok for the
warrenty period. ...thehick

Yes, and you left when you were three, have not been back since, but yet you're an expert on all
things Scottish. I imagine you're about as Scottish as Mike Myers, but not as funny.
