View Full Version : just got out of hospital
just got out of hospital
some stupid person took it upon themselves to pull out of a side road into me last night. Enough
time to think 'this is going to hutr' - then nothing till Iwake up in an ambulance stuuffed with
drips & oxygen mask.
lots of blood & pain and a totaly defunct left arm - the x-rays are really quite something.
have yet to track down bike but reckon it must severely bent at least.
good points : four shots of morphine.
bad points : everything else - including the full set of waterproofs and an expensive suit that the
hospital people siscorred off me.

Sorry to hear about this. You said they drove into you, is this what you meant or did they pull out
and you didn't have time to stop. Either way it is their fault but if you did hit the side of their
car it's likely your frame is a right-off :o(
It all sounds very serious morphine, drip, all I ever got was an incredibly painful neck brace. I
hope you recover soon.

Bad. Sorry to hear that, I hope your arm can be fixed up good. Chin up, and please keep us in the
loop. And may the cager's [insert approrpiate gender-specific parts] wither and drop off.
Now is probably not the time to start touting the dark side and USS for comfort during the healing
process ;-)

Glad to hear you are still in the land of the living. I hope you recover swiftly and completely.
here's to a fruitful contact with the CTC and hoping the private parts of the driver wither and
drop off....
Get well.

Bummer and commiserations. Last time a motorist put me in hospital I was in there for 4 days and it
was 2 years before I got back on two-wheeled transport again - _but_ that was on a motorcycle at
40-50mph and was the reason for giving up motorcycling and eventually starting cycling, which I now
think is a _much_ safer activity. So that and the fact that I got over £10k compensation from it
meant that it wasn't all bad - every cloud has a silver lining as they say. Well maybe not _every_
cloud - some things are unremittingly bad, but hopefully this will not be one of them. Get well soon
& all that..

For once I'll say don't worry about the bike (there will be plenty salvageable) and concentrate on
getting yourself mended. Best of luck for a quick and full recovery.

Ouch. Really glad you woke up and are up and walking. Get well soon and good luck with the CTC. They
were a great help with me.

Look on the bright side - even if the arm doesn't set quite right, it's not as bad for your cycling
as a dicky leg, and you should get a really nice shiny bike from somebody's insurers :-)
