Pedals that use hex fastener on pedal axle (vs. flats for wrench)
I'm building a travel bike (w/ BTCs) and have heard of pedals with axles that have a 6 mm Allen bolt head vs. a bolt with flats for a 15 mm wrench.
Any recommendations for pedals with axles that have an Allen bolt head?

Many good pedals have both Allen and 15 mm flats.
Are you trying to avoid pedals that have the 15 mm flats?
Having both Allen and flats is fine. I normally use Speedplay, which have only flats. I'm about 90 kg/200 lb, so the axles have to be steel.

David, Thanks for the info.
I found more candidates, the "Lance pedal" ... Shimano PD-7750, a DA part, uses an 8-mm Allen key. Here's a review.

The Ultegra version is PD-R600 and has wrench flats and also uses a 6 mm key. Review at

Add to the list, Speedplay X/3, which has a 6 mm Allen bolt head plus wrench flats.
