Cycle Cape Brands?

View Full Version : Cycle Cape Brands?

Matt Birchall

Looking to buy a cycle cape - old fashioned poncho style - and found the Carradice brand. Does
anyone know the names of other brands of similar things? I searched with Google in newsgroups and uk
web sites but couldn't find any although I did a similar search a couple of weeks ago and found an
alternative brand but can't recall the brand name.

TIA

Matt

There don't seem to be many now. I used to be a great fan of cycle capes, but breathable waterproof
jackets have got a lot better and the cape is now probably redundent. You'll remember how appalling
they were if you had wind and rain together.

Hey Chris, you think us stupid folks really want to be stupid ?? That's gotta be worth some
sympathy ;-)

Thanks for that. The Eager has a range of sizes which might suit my wife better than the one size
Carradice that I have bought recently which is big enough for me (6'00" + bike to suit) but probably
too big for her (5'6"+bike to suit). The Vaude cape (from Chris's posting) was the one that I found
a couple of weeks ago and then couldn't find - the hood with windows sounds a like a nice idea but I
wonder if they are actually safe and whether they are compatible with a helmet.
