Has anyone ever heard of hairdressers syncope? Our daughter passed out while having her hair done
and Children's hospital said it was the cause.

yes, particularly in older patients who have peripheral vascular disease (atherosclerosis) of the
vertebral arteries at the base of the brain.... it can be dangerous to hyperextend the neck as this
can obstruct/block the flow of blood to the brain and cause a stroke. i have not heard of this
happening in a normal child however.
