Be part of breaking the world record for an individual raising funds for charity.
When we think of the London Marathon, we think of Paula Radcliffe's magnificent record beating
triumph last year; that thrilling 5-way finish in the men's race; the enthusiasm of vast crowds of
spectators supporting both the elite runners and those that need 7 hours or more; the massive
amounts of money raised for good causes. Do the British people want to include 'disgraced peer'
Archer in those thoughts? Surely not.
Archer is trying to break the world record for raising funds for charity when running the London
Marathon this year. Great that he's raising money, but why does he always go for the headlines?
The current record is $2m (about £1.2m), raised by P Diddy running the New York Marathon last year.
Archer is trying to raise £1 per inch, 0r £1.66m.
I'm Nobody from Nowhere, Ms Ordinary, but I'm running too. Sponsor me to run for ChildLine, Cancer
Research UK, NSPCC or British Heart Foundation, and join me in wiping the smile off his face. Go to
www.peoplevspeer.org for more details. Just 1 million people sponsoring me £2 each would raise £2m,
make a massive difference to the charities, and would put Archer firmly in his place.
If you like the idea, sponsor me via www.peoplevspeer.org, then please tell your friends, and ask
them to tell their friends. Do it now (please), the London Marathon is on 18th April 2004, and the
sooner the money starts coming in, the sooner Archer will know that he is beaten.
Thanks.
