After reading the Nov issue of Runner's World, I decided to try a grip helper for icy days. I could
not Yak Trax for running (just the walking model was available), but did find "get a Grip" at the
Running Room. They were great! I had great footing and never slipped at all. They stayed put on my
shoes (Saucony guys size 9-wide feet) well and I found they helped to keep my feet warmer. I do not
think they would work well for a speed workout but for a long distance slower paced run they were
great and I was outside on a nice day after all. I did find that they were a bit heavier but after a
short distanc ethis was not as noticeable. They also feel odd when running on a non-slippery
pavement, but overall I would recommend them to anyone who runs on icy, and often snow covered
surfaces. A great little 8 km run today.
