Noticed last month the DS Trainer 8 shoe was being closed out....figured the 9 was coming and
yup....showed up over at Telerunner. IMO the DS Trainer 8 seemed to get a lot of "mixed" reviews
from DS trainer runners fond of the 6's and 7's. In speaking to DS Trainer wearers....the 8's were a
slightly disappointing and did not feel like a natural progression coming from the 6 & 7 legacy.
Never wore 8's myself...could not say. Perhaps you can? I thought the 6 was very good, and the 7
terrific. Wonder how the 9's are going to play
w/the DS Trainer crowd...if any eager beavers bite and grab some 9's, do tell. The nimbus 5 is out
too.....I've been daily training in 4's and have found them to be one of the more durable shoes
for those hard shoes.

The Nimbus 5 has been out for a while, and the 4 is cheap now. I concur with your observation -- I'm
up in the 300s on my Nimbus 4s, and I think I'm going to get 600+ miles out of them.
Cheers,

Hard? Isn´t the Nimbus a (very) cushioned shoe for the neutral (but not heavy or forefoot-
striking) runner?
BTW perhaps an odd preference over the 2080/90 for someone who wants stability on those long
runs, isn´t it?

The Nimbus is *never* cheap here: the latest model is invariably priced €20-30 above the (already
high-priced) GS Trainer, and past season´s models are still sold at list prices when 30% is slashed
off on other Asics shoes - and I have *not once* seen a single pair of the Nimbus in those piles of
shoes sold at Asics-sponsored races!

Maybe I should try a pair? And use the wife´s plastic instead of my own cash:-)

Anders, if you are at all capable of wearing a ladies' 10 (mens' 8.5, I believe), let me know and I
will send you my hardly-worn pair for the cost of shipping. It took 12 miles for me to figure out
that these shoes weren't right for this non-heavy, mid-to-forefoot-striking runner.
