Travelling to the Czech republic on one of the low cost airlines with some friends in May. We are
going to Prague, but then on to some Czech World Heritage sites. We;ll be there a week to ten days.
Any views/comments welcome on cycling there - particularly low traffic or Eurovelo routes.

We didn't cycle there but the road surface is as bad as Westminster/Camden (unless that's changed
since I commuted there in the 90's).

We went there last year (without bikes). From what I saw, once you are out of Prague, there is very
little traffic(compared to the UK).It is quite hilly, and a lot of the countryside is as it was 50
years ago - so lots of really quiet lanes. Bikes are allowed on the trains(and the trains are very
cheap,but many are
v.slow). See this site for info about a MTB Polaris type event in the Czech Rep.: http://www.bike- (http://www.bike-/)
adventure.cz/2003/index.php The guy who does the site can read English, so ask him your queries,
and you may get some informed opinions. Alan.
