I don't have a dog in this "diet" fight (I just try vaguely to be "balanced"), but in reading that
piece you've linked I do note that it says he was "less than 200 lbs. when he was injured," and
gained weight only after injury up to the 258 lbs. figure at his death. Of course, the overall irony
is still evident.

Going by BMI, he was still fat at 200. You have to be 184 to make a BMI of 25 at 6' tall. Which is
absurd for anyone of any athleticism but I digress...
