Nice pictures.
Interesting that some riders have bottles on their TT bikes.

That is interesting. Ekimov's is empty - I wonder if he
started with it like that, or if he tossed the bottle.
I'm still trying to figure out what's up with Dekker's
helmet. It looks like some '60s motorcycle lid. Plus the
strange way it sits way back on his head. http://wontyouspammebaby.free.fr/Dekker2-

They outlawed his usual Giro aero helmet because it
didn't comply with the stricter safety laws for the new
cycling year.

Apparently nowadays aero helmets must provide crash
protection.
> Plus the strange way it sits way back on his head.
That was strange yes, and not intended I think. The
first thing he did when crossing the line was shove his
helmet forward.

Studies have shown bikes are more aero with water bottles
than without. They "fill in" the hole in the main triangle,
improving air flow. Linked to

As someone else pointed out, the familiar head fairings are
now banned. So, an aero helmet has to acually provide some
protection. Dekkers does look like straight out of the 60's.
Note that every one else has a normal road helmet.
Lance has mentioned a new TT helmet in the works. We
probobly wont see it till July....

Scott Sunderland's 'aero' helmet is right out of a sci-fi
movie: http://www.cyclingnews.com/photos/2004/mar04/parisni-

The Euro pros need to hook up with Louis Garneau.

If LANCE gets Giro to make him an aero helmet that meets the
CPSC standard (as well as the UCI), making it race-legal in
the US, every Fred and Fattie Master in the US is going to
want one. They will be more ubiquitous than carbon Treks.
For the sake of style, I hope he keeps the design
proprietary and not-available-in-stores, like his current
head-fairing (the one that only he and Millar get to wear).

Well, that would explain it. I guess they should have
done a little more work on trying it out beforehand, so
they might have discovered this problem. Or provided him
with '65 Honda, a short-sleaved cotton workshirt and some
Raybans...

You guys are a real riot............
What do you think the state of cycling would be like if LA
never was????
Probably a few notches below "Badminton" as a
spectator sport..
