Hi, A friend of mine introduced me to the Gong ride (http://www.gongride.org.au). It is a non-competitive, charity event consisting on riding from Newtown in Sydney to Wollongong going through the Royal National Park. I checked its web site and it seemed to me pretty nice and interesting, so I am planning on signing up for it. Is people around here familiar with this event? What is your opinion about it? Cheers. |

This 100km the weekend after will be much much more fun though http://www.wildhorizons.com.au/highlandfling/index.html Parbs |

Please tell me you won't be doing it on a 32:18. At least put the 44 back on the front. The roadie, the commuter, an SS, a 5" duallie... decisions, decisions. -- Dave Hughes | dave@hired-goons.net "Quantum materiae materietur marmota monax si marmota monax materiam possit materiari?" |

Or one of these would be cool http://www.phantomcycles.com.au/prod...cat=102&page=1 Parbs - who is very sore from racing downhill today |

I'm not familiar with it. It does look nice and interesting. It looks like a good way to learn a good route from Sydney to Wollongong. So I think I'll go on it ![]() Sam R. |

So you're going Dark Side hey? no marshalling this one. Those in the yellow PPE ( Personnel Protection Equipment ) are our local Rural Fire Service volunteers giving up a day or 2 so they can buy equipment to protect us . Have a great one |

As long as you are not a dyed in the wool cycle speed freak it is a great day out. This year will be the first time back on the old route since the cliff road was closed because it was unsafe so there will be a lot of people wanting to try out the new Seacliff Bridge. How 10000 cyclists will cross the bridge now that the shared footpath/cycleway is barred to cyclists will be interesting. Anyway if you haven't done it it is worth doing at least once. The climb out of the National Park is a good test of stamina for those used to flat roads. Regards Prickles Timendi causa est nescire This message only uses recycled electrons |
