Heard of Azzurri??

Hey guys! I was in at Borsari Cycles today, and the shop assisstant pointed out a brand I hadn't heard of before, an australian brand, Azzurri. I just wanted to know if anyone had heard of them, rated their product? Cheers!

They're the same company as Learsport, but I think they're trying to develop a more up-market name by introducing some carbon models with Ultegra and Dura-Ace -- Learsport don't have carbon or Dura-Ace models, or at least they didn't for the 2005 season.

They are one of many mass-produced Asian frames, but one thing they definitely are -- especially the Columbus Zonal aluminium models -- is an ABSOLUTE bargain!! You can buy a brand new Columbus Zonal Azzurri frame, without a fork, for $500!!! That is SO CHEAP!! The exact same tubing will cost at LEAST double that if you got a local custom frame or a brand name import. I ended up buying a Columbus Zonal Cinelli Proxima for a great price, which rides very well, and is light enough: size 'L' is ~1400g without a fork.

I'm sure the Azzurris and Learsports would be just as good as any other machine-tigged aluminium Asian frame, of which I've owned 4, and they've all been fine. I know a guy with a Learsport 8500, and he loves it.

As I suggested, the models made with Columbus Zonal aluminium are a total bargain! Columbus, in Italy, is the one of the top tubing manufacturers. John Kennedy recommends most of his customers use Zonal alu for their custom frames.

On my side of town, the guy across from the Brighton Baths sells them, as does Kathy Watt.

I own an Azurri Uno.

Yes the bikes are the same manufacturer as the Learsport models. They are distributed via the same channels.

Actually an Azurri Uno from what I understand is indentical to a Learsport 8000 in every way except for the paint color, the wording on the bike and the price tag. The Azurri Uno costs more.

I actually had ordered a Learsport 8000 through the distributors factory outlet but they didn't have that size frame available so I paid a little extra for the Azzurri.

There was an issue when my bike was delivered, but after raising the issue with the general manager, the problem was resolved promptly.

I am very happy with my bike, I've done approximately 800kms on it so far and it has been performing well and was a great buy.

I have an Azzurri Uno. I have been trying to find out where the creaking has been coming from. Found out tonight that the frame is cracked at the butt where the saddle pin enters. Trying to find out what the guarentee is for the frame. Anyone know??????

I have an azzurri tigre and i love it. cheap entry level road bike.
With regard to the frame i'm pretty sure it has a 15 year warrenty so you should have no troubles getting that replaced....

thanks for that, fingers crossed as I am worrying that it only has a 12 month warrenty. I will be contacting the shop I bought it from tomorrow and will let you know how it goes.

The shops warrenty sections talks about 12 months and if that is the case I will be shocked, I used to sell bikes and used the guarentee as a major selling point. I am sure if I was told it was 12 months I wouldn't have bought it but I guess I should have asked also.

The Learsport web site says there is a 15 year frame warranty, so Azzurri should be the same.

Turns out it is a lifetime guarentee and bike is being replaced as we speak. Pick it up tomorrow however I took advantage of paying $600 to upgrade to a full CF bike. Quite pleased with that and just over a 24 hour turnaround

I bought an Azzurri primo about 5 months back and I love it. It is a full carbon monocoque frame and it cost me about 2500AUD shipped from Taiwan including VAT. The Ultegra parts are great. The frame is a slightly modified brand name frame made in the same factory. Carbon is great. It just glides along. The primo weighs about 7kg which is coincidentally the amount of body weight, in flab, I have lost since I bought it. I can't recommend them enough.
