Back to bikes....

Was reading this about mounting tubies and it was sounding like ok advice (for a seppo) until about half way through the process he decides to use a tool called 'wife'. (Hey baby want to mount my tubularrrr? bbp try that one on your next hottie )

Once a full 180 degree section of the tire
has been mounted, turn the wheel over and place the valve stem section down
vertically on the ground. This is the point where I have my wife hold the
section of tire I had just put on the rim with two hands at 0 and 180
degrees. I then grab the tire at the top and turn it so the base tape is
facing up. At this point I pull up on the tire and roll it onto the top of
the rim. It's actually very easy with two people.
Wife? That some sort of knife? Can you pick these up cheap at K-Mart or what? Might pop into Kennards tomorrow and see if they got a 'used' one for 'half day rental'.....

I'm sure he really meant she should hold it at 90 and 270.
Or even 2 oclock and 10oclock.
Bloody seppos.

My $0.02...

If your goal is to seek clarity on errors of ones ways then answers you recieve in say 6 months time will more likely ring truer than those you recieve now. Thats my experience. Time and distance grants both parties with a grace and clarity of thought rarely found amidst the interim haze of fading loveliness.

You should go root a fat chick immediately. They rock.

Footnote: I once knew a yorkshireman (bloody unbelievable cricketer) who smoked like a chimney and every saturday night he would sit up at the end of our local pub bar in north yorks and he would have at least 2 sometimes 3 'larger' girls hanging around him. Every week without fail. I started to pay him out one night and he starred me straight in the face tapping me on the shoulder and said, 'Dan, ole boy, someone has to root the fat chicks. Never forget that. Someone has to root the fat chicks.' In fact I will never forget that day. I smashed my first ever century on english soil and as we drove home from harrogate we pumped the stereo as loud as it would go belting out frank sinatra classics singing along. Was the day he died.

bang her sister

and always mount your tubulars as a team.
<oops and let them age for six months, lightly inflated>

sounds perfect to me.

Oright people I'm back. I've decided the US is great for shopping but the rest pretty much sucks (sorry existence). They eat crap (sitting on an island of french fries) and are awesome at self promotion. I stayed in Santa Barbara for 2 weeks and travelled around. SB, Malibu, Santa Monica are average at best, our beaches **** all over them. Yosemite is pretty cool, with big f*ck off trees. My boss lives in a USD$50M+ house besides Oprah's USD$125M+ house Montecito and has a genuine ford GT40 that raced at Le Mans in his underground carpark...What does a man who has a GT40 also have ...you guessed it a new Ford GT painted in exactly the same colours as the original so that he can drive it around on the streets...once every 6 months, when he doesn't feel like driving the Porsche GT2.

Anyhow, I learnt **** loads about our products now and have lots of contacts in the US who are gunna start sending me stuff that I buy and have sent to their address...hehehe

Not gunna ask what I missed cos I know hitchy got himslef a new froggy bike (down Tigger), and the rest doesn't really matter.

bbp, sad to hear about the break up with the ex. I read the last few pages so have a general overview.

NADA...Look away, this next stuff is not for your delicate eyes!

My advice re the ex...ring the HOTTEST girl friend of your ex. I mean the one that not even Antonio Banderous would have a chance at and ask for a chat. tell her that you know that the ex was bumping nasties with a few of your friends and that you were really upset. Then when the sympathy kicks in, tell her you've always like her and would love to go out. Chicks love to offer a shoulder to cry on, even the hot ones.

Now, she's gunna tell all the friends the ex wasn't faithful and the ex will eventually find out. She's gunna hate you because you talked **** about her and after you get the blast, will go away. The hot chick may or may not say yes to a date, but the chances are, she may be keen! ;-) You might get to bump nasties with the hot chick...I reckon a sympathy root is better than none at all!

Anyhow, I put on about 3 kg's in 2 weeks in the US and now I have to work to get the blubber off. Tigger tells me that Titanium work has been done on my new bike and will be sent to the carbon fibre dudes in the next week. In the mean time I have to keep riding the Colnago. ah well , if I have to.

does anyone know how easy it is to get Zipp rims separately?

I'm thinking I might just get some rims, like the 417s, and put cheaper hubs in them to save a lot of dough

Why not go with their budget brand 'Flash Point'? You still get decent carbon rims backed by Zipp. They know the gloss and mystique of carbon rims is wearing off and so they needed to cut their cost to consumers without destroying the Zipp brand. You probably still get the same level of quality control on the flash point products as for the top of the line Zipps. Give Chris Langdon a call. He is a good dude.
