The Denton interview wasn't helped by the fact that it was conducted via satellite - made it very difficult for Andrew Denton to develop a rapport with him. I do agree he comes across as very guarded but then I suspect he's very shy.

There's stacks of Cadel types in cycling. Quite shy, lead a mostly solitary early life, eschews attention, anal retentive, mildly obsessive, mildly autistic, guarded, sucked at traditional sports because he was too 'slight', probably got bullied by some rugby player at school, was good at maths, doesn't like French movies, would probably be in IT if not for the V02 Max and Lactic threshold......

No surprises really.

ps: I just made all that **** up.

Anyway, how an ex-mtber falls off his bike so much is a complete mystery to me. Then again all my worst crashes have been riding down the street to get lunch, so I can't really talk.

Yep, I've thought this for while. It's the isolation of all the long, solo rides, day after say, year after year. It doesn't do much for the personality.

^^ explains a lot.
I'm a dead**** most of the time & happy with my own company when I'm riding.
I do most of my riding solo, I like it that way. I'm always baulking when someone wants to ride with me.
I don't mind so much in a larger group, maybe 'cause that emulates racing I dunno.
Really getting a kick out of night riding too atm. 52ks solo last night, 20ks of which was no street lights or houses. A few cars tho.

Yeah, Rogers and Stuey are similarly boring, although Stewbo gives a bit more these days, now that he's older, I s'pose.

I like doing 90% of my riding solo. I don't mind having the odd chat, but after about 20mins, all the bull**** of riding around parked cars; being pushed into the gutter or out into traffic; not being able to do the bushman's hanky, or pick me nose; being half-wheeled; or just worried that the person is gunna knock me over; etc, etc, etc, eventually does me farkin head in.

If someone half-wheels me, I start messing with them: I'll either keep slowing down until they stop doing it, even if it means I'm doing 20; or, I'll speed up 5km/h to half-wheel them, and if they do it again, I'll speed up another few km/h, etc, until they're struggling so much they can't talk, then they usually, eventually slow down.

I don't mind group rides for smash-fests, or sitting behind a slow bunch on me easy days if it means I'm less likely to get run over, but no chit-chat

Fixed.

ps: Thylacines made up **** was disturbingly accurate

I done that once, and it's much harder than ya think, especially at night, and extra expecially if ya try to stand up to pedal.

Hey Classic do you think Contador is vulnerable at the Tour de France? How should Evans play his cards? Maybe lama can pipe up too? Or anyone who likes ice cream really.

Obviously consistency is his big weapon but he has to also look to take time too (easier said than done). I hope its windy as all fcuk on those non radio days. That would be awesome.

Should Evans be trash talking Contador in the press too about how he is the 'Astana orphan' and nobody wants him? And in the bunch from day 1 too 'where are ya mates? huh? where are ya mates? Do Spanish dogs get raybees? I like ice cream. My name is Cadel. Suk it.'

I reckon Contador is a bit insecure about his team and he is very very young in the head so he should be susceptible to a good head fcuk no?

I am also hoping lllyody gets the nod (is that confirmed). Cadel needs to send guys forward more on some of these key mountain days - find a way to stop getting done over 3 to 1 on the bergs.

bbp - trip sounds good. I still think a TAN Warny race would be the most rewarding!

'I like lion shaped teddy bears. And paris hilton dogs. Hmm I might dye my hair blond so I sound AND look like her. Chiara and I could make a sextape...yeah where are ya mates ya woosy Spaniard? Why won't you take a turn? Oh ****. He's gone. Why won't anyone else take a turn so I can catch him?'

Sorry Cadel, although the sextape is a good idea. Please?

Cmon Vadar let's go terrorise the neighbours. Get away from whitey culture for a bit of an adventure.
