Yep I have raced him a fair few times now - he is a real gem huh. Has a massive crack all day long. For an old fart he's a real ball tearer. I always say hi to him when I whiz past but he wouldn't know me from a bar of soap. His son was a AIS rider no? Michael Ford or whatever.

I reckon he must live down my way cos I see him rolling home after a sandown hitout through the badlands. I will have to ask him what races he won back in the day. He races clean too, never afraid to come to the front either.

What a prick. I hope he gets smashed in the Tour. I don't even care by who.
Yeah but this is the problem. There isnt anyone with balls in the field to have a dip. You have to be a bit of a cnut to be a champion and he clearly is a cnut. But Cadel doesnt have it in him. Neither does Sastre, nor young shrek, valverde does but not the talent, contador thinks he does but doesnt, stuey does but cant go on the bergs, same with gerro.

The one who has it is Lloydy. He could be a champion because I think he has the cnut ability but a nice guy too. He is cheeky. He just needs the belief. Not sure about his TT? Maybe not good enough. (obviously he wont win the Tour de France this year)

What doesnt armstrong like on the bike? Physicality. He doesnt like riding isolated or being blocked in or being harassed or verbally abused. He is the biggest sockcock in a criterium. Get in his face, ride tight, lean on him, push the limits, talk to him.

I would also play Contador off against Armstrong in the bunch. Feed the divide. Feed the hate.

I would also verbalise his lieutenants. For Silence Lotto that means going after Poppedoutthebackyoubitch. He is weak dog and needs reminding on a daily basis IMO.

Its farken on now!!!

Great!
Honour it was.
At the preso I was watching him walk around with a bit of a waddle thinking fark this overweight old bastard ( affectionately) has just ridden 111ks in 3h 10m. Not bad for a 70 year old. He picked up $200 as well.
Here is a link to the event so you can show your Dad Bobs name in the results.

I bet Hinault and LeMond thought the same about the cast of the 87 and 88 Tours... To be honest without Contador there it really was like the cast of the 'also rans'. The only real danger to CSC was Menchov and he turned to **** after that stage where he fell off going uphill. Unfortunately for Alberto, there's not many massive mountain stages on this Tour but I'd expect him to wipe the floor with everyone as the race heads out of Spain and across into France for the first rendezous with the mountains.

Valverde aint gonna be at the Tour, Stuey? Baby Stewie from The Family Guy has more chance of ruffling Armstrong's feathers. Cadel could possibly do it in the pyrenees but won't have the legs for it in the Alps and in Provence. Contador is the only guy with the talent and the legs to get the job done in the mountains. I think the fact that he's won the last three Grand Tours that he's entered attests to that...

His biggest attacks have come when he's been isolated - the Alpe in 2001, Ventoux in 2000 and 2003, Sestriere and Hautacam 99. In case you forget "the look" that Lance supposedly gave Ulrich on Alpe Dhuez was really him looking around after Chechu went bang in a spectacular way wondering where his team mates were... Verbally abused? Hahahahaaaaa...

Did everyone see this?

The Wimpleton organisers admit they put the hot chicks on centre court, despite them being ranked way lower

Stuart O Grady? The hardest guy in the euro bunch bar none? Armstrong is fairly gutless wonder compared to O'Grady. O'Grady would also beat the **** out of him in a fight.

This is the bit where you totally failed to comprehend the point of my post. We have been down this path before in various other threads. You have a remarkable habit of doing this. I will blame it on your 17% lung capacity, old age and your mutant seppo/pommie background.

And off we go into a swamp infested lalaland after crossing rolling hills of irrelevance amidst broad sweeping plains of generalisations.

Armstrong's history counts for nothing in the context of the next four weeks. He brings no form whatsoever with him. He is vulnerable like never before and everyone knows it.

His true intentions of his comeback have been revealed as we all intimated 8 months ago. He doesn't care about cancer or helping people on any level whatsoever unless the act of helping someone else brings him closer to his own selfish end.

Lance Armstrong is just smart enough to genuinely believe he is intelligent but not intelligent enough to realise he is a ******* tool.

He is the kind of guy who comes to Melbourne to spend quality time with Brendan Fevola, Gary Lyon and James Packer. Instead of spending a weekend walking the halls of Peter Mac.

No doubt in my mind Lance Armstrong will go to his grave having never known what it means to be a man. He is forever destined to be a manchild chasing his next paycheck.

We all know you want a mouthful of Armstrong's yoghurt you double dutch dinosaur but seriously spare us the details.

Audacity of HUGE!

Seriously - This one needs to be repeated

Oh, and I've just spent the best part of forever in country NSW... Great food, great people, great place. Pity it's so bloody far from the opera house. I could hardly see it!

I don't recall Hinault or Lemond publicly referring to 87 or 88 as 'joke' Tours either.

Why the boner for Contador? You forget that Contador would not have won in 2007 without Rasmussen in the race. He was dead set lucky to have Robochicken dragging him around before Rabobank pulled the pin on him. Contador has won his three GT's by a combined total a shade over 3 minutes. Hinault and Indurain used to win individual TT stages by that much. Yeah, Contador won, but it's hardly the second coming of Merckx IMO. He is beatable.

Also, LOL at last years Giro and Vuelta fields.
