You could alway buy the Cannondale or the US Postie Trek and use them in the 'trade up' program towards a new frame. I know a couple of people who called Cannondale, got a trade in value (after spotting one for sale 'well used' on Craigslist), bought the used frame, sent it in and got a fair chunk off the cost of a new frame... Don't know if that program works out there though or even if a Cannondale would cost less than a house out there.

How about a Carrera? I think he's got $1,100 on it as a complete bike with Ultegra/600 8sp. Columbus SL. It looks just like the one of Abdu's featured in an old issue of Winning I've got.

Bloody Nora. It'd want a full used Record groupset for that kinda cash. It's not like it's one of the classic one colour fully chromed rear triangled '80s ones with the metal headbadge that ARE worth good money, like this Pinarello Montello SLX white/black chrome on velospace, the place for bikes or this rather sexy red one Pinarello - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
THEN I'd be tempted.

That Carrera isn't bad. As a Chiappucci fan I've already got the jersey, just need the jean shorts.... and a haircut.... and a better dealer
Hmm I could finally get a man sized stem and some decent seatpost showing on that little thing too. Although it looks like the tubing might be SP or some other generic crap from the top sticker, I can't read the bottom one.
Tell him to whack some half decent old Record on it and it's sold... for the same price.

I like Carreras. My impression is that they are in the ballpark of Scapin or Zullo quality.

Still made in Italy As far as I know.

Either. I want a Montello really though.
It was the bike I went to Italy for, many years ago, and would have bought from the factory in Treviso, if I hadn't been robbed by Roman ***** within hours of arriving. I spent a few years learning the language beforehand for pretty much that purpose.
I would have ridden it around Italy for at least a few weeks or months and certainly wouldn't have skived off to the old dart within days either.
I wonder how different my life would have been if things had worked out differently that week? I most likely wouldn't have ended up a plumber, for starters.

Tell Vadar he doesn't deserve us.

According to Steve's post, Joffa only copped a one week ban - so he should be back by now.

Is he toying with us, do you think?

Yep, I like them, partly coz they're very rare around here -- I reckon I've seen about 4 in me whole life

How much would you pay for the frame? Frames are heaps easier to post
