if you brought that airy fairy **** into my boardroom as a consultant then id honestly and legitimately go off my tree!!!!!!!!! once again your trying to LEAD into the market...when his turnover and growth in not in that market (as he has said)...its a small/medium business strategy for disaster.locally your better off picking one of the more popular beach rd rides and sponsoring it - i.e do a deal with a local coffee house and offer the riders a free coffee after the ride thanks to thylacine cycles...then invite anyone who has a thlyo frame to please come along and support the ride...once guys like me and 531 have got round to BUYING (dont give anything away) one of your frames and are crusing ahead of the pack you will get all the free publicity on beach road you need. you might do that once a month and across a number of different beach rd ride groups...only cost you $100 or so (if you can hook up a deal with a savvy coffee shop) rather than giving out a $2500 (cost base) frame to one guy. and if thunder can hook you up with some free marketing through radio or mags then wicked ![]() getting back to my original point - if local potential customers are too fickle then dont sink your paid marketing efforts into that market...follow your growth at all times (in my humble opinion)!!! and if someone ever, ever, ever says something like...'there is ancetodal evidence to suggest...' run for the hills !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! large companies can chase ancedotal evidence to their hearts content - small/medium enterprises need to be a hell of a lot more considered.and thunder if you havent had hands on experience with Austrade and havent researched exactly what they can offer then dont make what would seem to appear as 'statements of fact' regarding them !! i only raised austrade because i have real experience with them and have practical knowledge of what they can do. if i had no sound knowledge of them then i just wouldnt have openned my mouth at all about them. |

See, I have plans, dreams and aspirations. Now I just need to find someone with CASH! And someone who likes marketing, because I HATE it like nobody's business.

I never suggested the strategy, just in repsonse to Thylo's wish to get it on an A/B grader. If you think laterally, I was merely parroting the "follow the market" marketing 101 you spruik. IF he get a bum on a bike, a lend, or at cost, or any in kind expense, it needs to be prorata to his budget, most importantly, it must atleast get some genuine impressions of potential customers. If Melbourne will never be a haven for turnover, why would he put a bum on a bike out of his pocket? But there is evidence on the increasing market, but Thlo's market, go ask him. Not my strategy, mine was more generic, but offering up some "anecdotes" you deride, which do have back-up in statistics. I conceded my error regarding hyperbole. You can still criticise it though. Feel free to chew me out again. This was not my marketing strategy. |

Sadly most of them are out of my range (and I dont really need some of them). the niteflux or the one on special from torpedo seven are on my shortlist. My only problem with the one from torpedo7 is: why is it marked down so much? False advertising? |
