now modifyed and ready for its new owner: Refit the original wheels, tyres and 14-28 5 speed freewheel. Replace the 28/38/48 tooth chanrings with a single 40 tooth chainring and remove Front Derailleur and Shifter. Replace the Falcon Long Cage Derailleur with a Falcon Short Cage. Total cost of new Chainring and RD, $20. This makes the bike much easier to ride for an inexperienced girl, one less lever to confuse.

I just got my old Giant Sedona AL roadworthy for my Dad, test rode it to work at lunch. The adjustable bar is comfy. I forgot the name of my 2yo entry level MTB Giant I ride with tri-bar pulled back for easy upright cycling, but that is a good work around, and keeps head up to enjoy the view more without straining neck. Grips are shot from parking in weather. |

Back on my Upland these past two nights before the heat returns. http://s16.photobucket.com/albums/b7/tillis/Upland/ I wouldn't go back to low bars again, upright is great, I shift it forward if standing and sprinting for a distance. Last edited by eldavo; 01-14.-2009 at 12:39 PM. Reason: pic |

Where's George gone? I came across this street trials bicyclist video, bringing me back to this thread My first freedoms were by pedals. Nothing like this, but makes me want to pull the fluoro green panniers and carrier rack off the back, smack down the high rise cruise tri-bar, connect the bell to the spokes and shout between ring-a-ding-dings at the birds through a foggy dawn around the lake and through the local bushland... in dreams while sleeping cos it's too cold!!!
