Default Bike fit

I have have a trek 1000 and an Apollo Fiamme http://www.cyclelink.com.au/prod5135.htm

I went for a ride on my trek 1000 today my neck hurt. My neck kept droping down and my neck musles were tiring for holding my neck up. I think the fit is pretty good. I just don't like road bikes because of the bent over postion and I feel uneasy on it if you know what I mean. So the apollo fiamme does not have any clipless peadals so I want to get some. I prefer flat bar road bikes. But I'm not sure if my fits right on the appollo fiamme because my arms are really stright and streched out seems that the handle bars are to far away from the seat.

You could change the stem for a shorter one. Take it to your lbs and have them check your fit on the bike. Otherwise, you could do it yourself. There are many threads here on what to look for and how to get the right fit.

Yes I would suggest to go to a bikeshop. Bike fit can be very difficult to get right - at least get some advice from them.
