Default Voale Team's Weight

My Volae Team weighed 24 pounds today on the "doctors" beam scale at my Fitness Club. I could be off
by a pound but we tried very hard to be accurate. My Volae is equipped with basic egg beater pedals,
two led lights, two Mirrycycle mirrors and a fabric Hostel Shoppe Aero rear bag . I'd guess about 1
pound for all the accessories.

Wow Robert,

Thats light for a steel frame bent. If your numbers are correct, then your Volae Team is actually
significantly lighter than my Aero. What sort of fork do you have?

Regards, Derek

The monotube construction yields fairly light weight steel bikes. The psuedo equivalent Vision R65 specs. at 26.5 lbs, so 24 lbs with 1 lbs of accessories sounds slightly light, but in the right neighborhood. If the Volae has lighter componetry, it's plausible the scale is right.

A few other monotube examples:
My mwb Vision specs. at 35 with rear suspension.
The steel LWB Rotator Pursuit specs. at 31.
My steel folder specs. at 28 with rear suspension.

Since three of us worked to keep the bike steady and in "neutral-weight-balance" while held upright
on the rear wheel with the rear brake clamped, who the hell knows? ;-))

I will weigh the bike on an accurate Tanita digital scale when I get home next week, subtracting my
weight from the weight of me holding the bike. (I also can add one or two pounds of quarters to my
pocket to make weight weenies feel better.)
