http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tem=3646162884

Follow the above link to the eBay auction of this alternative to a recument trike.

This is a one-of-a-kind 23.5" Newton conversion from a Mercian Touring Bike.

The auction starts late in the day on Dec. 16th 2003. The link may not be active until that time.
Auction ends Dec. 26th.

Thanks for your interest.

Ugh. 3-wheeled wedgie for old people. Thanks but no thanks.

You sound kinda like Jessie James on Monster Garage tonight: "EWW! I hate trikes"!

At that point; I lost interest in tonights TV program (making a Peterbuilt 18-wheeler into a
massive trike).

I don't hate recumbent trikes. But As far as I know this one hes selling is one with a saddle and pedals right
below that and low gearing because its meant for old/disabled people. Hard to tell as the link
doesn't work. I wish him luck but its not for me cause when I'm 80 or 90 I expect to be making the
streets unsafe on a Greenspeed or something similar. ;-)

The builders of the Newtown lurk here:
http://www.ddol-las.fsnet.co.uk/romanroad.htm

Upright trikes should not automatically be linked with "old and slow", as many of them are ridden by
bona fide maniacs - http://www.tricycle-association.org.uk/photo_album.htm shows a fairly mild piece
of trike cornering. Readers familiar with "Viz" comic will be aware of the character Biffa Bacon;
there is a school of thought which suggests that Biffa's Dad
(http://www.viz.co.uk/latest/125biffa/page01.htm - bloke in the vest) was based on one Noel Knox, a
trike-riding member of Houghton Wheelers (whose members once included Bryan Ferry, trivia fans)

Aha I take it all back. Looks....ehm well... weird but cool. The only ones I could find on Ebay were
the old and slow variety.

Thanks for setting me straight.

(Still rather have a Greenspeed tho. ;-) )

I've found upright deltas are easier to balance than recumbent deltas since the upright permits more body lean.

Never tried an upright tadpole.
How about upright tadpoles?
Do they handle well?
