I would go with the Hardrock Comp Disc...For $100 more, you get way better brakes, and a fork that is pretty good (way better than the one that the Sport comes with)

I've had 3 hardrocks... 2 sports and 1 comp. They're all great bikes, but I rode the sh*t out of all of them and eventually the shifting mechanisms will go bonk on you. Right now I use my '04 comp with the flame paint job as a town bike, and it needs new disc brake pads and a gear change. I nailed the forks on the first hardrock I had taking it dirt jumping. I rode the next for a year all across town commuting to school, work, and having fun on... and then the gears got all screwed up because it had a run in with a fence post. The latest one has been great, except for what's mentioned above. Basically, these hardrocks take a lickin and keep on tickin. I like specialized, by the way, and now have over 13000 miles on an allez sport road bike and am planning to upgrade in the next couple months.
