2006 Specialized Rockhopper

Howdo,

I am considering buying a 2006 Specialized Rockhopper for about $450.00 American. Anyone here own one? If so, what are your thoughts on this bike? Here is the bike and componentry -

I'm not sure what your expectations were when you came here. For what it's worth, I have found this site very useful for a number of things, especially health, fitness, injury recovery and training related. However, the specific kind of question you've asked (what do you think of xyz fork or abc bike, etc) is unlikely to get answered in my experience.

For any future information requests of a this nature, I've found www.mtbr.com to be quite useful. It's helped me decide on quite a few component and tyre choices. It's also the most comprehensive of all the review sites I've seen. However, there si such a plethora of choice out there that even this site has gaps.

I have a friend who has one and likes it. Another friend just purchased one for his son. Both are serious riders, so based on that I'd say it must be a pretty good bike. On climbs the Rock Hopper is always in front of me and my bike costs a lot more. However, there's 20 years diffference in the age of the motors, so that may have something to do with it!
