Default Trek 1500?

The silver and blue Discovery Channel one. Would this be a good beginner bike? Never rode a road bike before, but I've been looking for some time now. This bike is retailing for about $929.99 at my LBS. I thought this was some good value. I told myself I wouldn't spend over a thousand, even though I understand I'll probably need a computer, pedal upgrade, and some shoes. Any insights?

Pretty good bike for the money. Alpha alum frame. More than you need to get you started. Make sure it fits.

What you need....is a helmet. Dont forget that.
