Hi all, I'm currently looking at a '06 Allez Comp at the LBS. It is my understanding that the '06 is no different than the '07, but is on sale because the '08 model will be out soon. I rode the bike yesterday, really enjoyed it (though I don't have anything to compare it too), and was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on it. Full 105 throughout, $1399 at a top dealer in the Greater Boston Area. Sound good? Any other bikes I should check out in the $1000-$1400 pricerange? This is definitely on the higher side for me, but I've heard nothing but excellent things about the bike. Thanks! |

Actually there is a difference between the '06 and '07 models - the '07s have carbon forks and seatstays as opposed to the previous model year, which doesn't have carbon. At least that's what they told me at the bike shop here when I was looking at the Allez line the other day. My guy speculated that the '08s wouldn't really be any different except for perhaps a 50 dollar price increase because it's the new model year. |
