Hello, I have not ridden a bike for many years and think it would be nice to start again. My main objectives would be to lose a little weight and become a little fitter. My last bike was a mountain bike and I was always frustrated by its insufficient top speed, I have no experience of a racing bike but I`m not too keen on the small tyres and cycling position, this is why I`ve looked at hybrid bikes. Most of my cycling will probably be on roads. Our local dealer has suggested 2 bikes for me to choose from and I`d like your advice on which. 1st bike is a 2006 Marin Larkspur which will be discounted for me because it is 2006 model. saving 15% 2nd bike is Mongoose Crossway 350 2007 model at full price I`m leaning towards the Marin at the moment. Cheers Steve. |

Hey Steve, Exactly the same as you mate, aproaching 30 and almost half that age in weight. My last bike was a mountain bike and like you I have decided to go for a hybrid (I tried to use my dads old Dawes super galaxy but it was too fiddly). I have just purchased this bike, although it is not a brand name the componants make up for that somewhat. http://www.edinburghbicycle.com/ebwP...c002910m005711 choose carefully (I would lean towards the Marin also) John |

Thanks for the advice, That revolution bike does look good but I think I am still more interested in the Marin . There was another bike on Edinburgh`s website it`s the Giant CRS 3.0 http://www.edinburghbicycle.com/ebwP...c002910m007179 I think I`ll google it then see if my local Actionbikes has one I can look at. Thanks again Steve. |
