Default In this thread, help me make a final decision...

Hi All, first post here, but I've been lurking for a while picking up lots of info for the purchase of my first road bike

Anyhow, I've narrowed it to two options in my price range. Just wondering what peoples thoughts are and which one you'd go for...

2006 Trek 1400
- 105 + ultegra, alu frame with carbon forks, $1600au (down from $2000)
- Coming from a beat up 10yr old bike, the Trek rode amazingly.

2007 Avanti Carbonio 1.0
- 105 + FSA, carbon frame, $1500au (down from $2400)
- I didn't get to ride the Carbonio (they didn't have it in my size in store) but I rode a Giro which from memory had pretty similar gear except for the frame. It's close but I think I preferred the the Trek to the Giro.

As a follow-up, I went for the Trek. It was a perfect fit and felt great to ride. After riding a slightly too big bike for 10yrs it was important that the size was spot on.
