I went to a couple of local bike shops asking for bikes under $1000 and came across the trek 1.2. It feels nice and comfortable to me but I'm not sure if I'm getting a good deal or not. The store offered me $830 with a full year of free adjustments. Also what parts should I immediately change? I read that the front derailleur and the brake pads aren't the best so should I immediately change those? And how much do decent helmets, cycling shorts, seats, gloves, water bottle holders, computers, and seat packs go for? Thanks for your responses Last edited by mpark0406; 08-04.-2009 at 09:48 AM. |

What year is the bike? I would not buy a bike and immediately change the front derailleur, brake pads, etc. If the components are that bad from the start, why buy that bike? Adding the extras you mentioned could easily tack on $150+ and up depending on your budget.
