Looking for a new bike online. Help!

I have been looking for a new bike. I was told that bikes direct was a legit website to find some deals. I have been looking around and found this

The price is right around my range.

Now, I am not looking to get into serious racing. I want to commute, exercise, maybe ride with some other cyclists, and go on the occasional adventure.

Any advice?

Don't try to commute on a road bike; no fun. You can't really carry anything. Get a commuter bike or a hybrid. You can put a rack on it; fenders, etc. That will be more functional and fun.
