Yea is there some word in Italian that could describe a masterpiece of a bike?

"Look." As it happens, in old Italian, Cervelo means "cracked, dry skin on a bull's nutsack."

He's probably out riding again. It is an annoying little habit he has .

Yeah, Cervelos are dream bikes and I got 2 of them!

A bike doesn't have to be italian to be a dream bike. Like ebay Colnagos go for cheap compared to store prices. I passed up a $2000 Colnago Dream C full Record Zero Gravity Eurus bike on Craigslist because I don't need an 8 th road bike.

So you are not going to get a $12,000 bike to reclaim your bragging rights?

I'm really not a braggert, it's just some people think I am because I mentioned the value of my bike collection.

My current dream is to get a full Record White Cervelo R3 with Campy Shamal and the new 08 Trek Madone with Bontrager Race X Lites. Both $5600 + bikes that I'd love to have, but don't need, so I just admire pics of them. And after buying 7 road bikes, I do have to quit the buying habit. But I dream of getting an 80's vintage Hutch Trickstar bmx freestyle bike, but these fetch very high ebay prices because they are treasured collector's items!

There's a lot of better things to spend money on than a $12,000 bike! Like a good used car, burning fast desktop PC, or an HD Camcorder, etc.

Look is a French company that is shifting production to Eastern Europe. Cervelo is a Canadian company whose frames are made in Taiwan.

But what does that have to do with the price of tea in China? FWIW, the Look frame that will arrive Wednesday was made in the Look factory in Tunisia. They could have made it in Ulan Bator or Gary, Indiana, though, for all I care. I would, however, draw the line at Indiana. I hate Indiana.

Just pointing out the pointlessness of the Italian Dream Machine debate. The best bike in the world is the one I happen to be sitting on. But my heart does melt for any Italian bike made from 1975 to 1984 that has a fat, gracefully curved fork and goes easy on the pantographing.

Good point.....unless the bike was made in Indiana. I can't remember ever thinking about where any bikes I've owned have been made. As a one bike guy, whatever bike I'm on is, like yours, the best, except when I'm waiting for the new bike to arrive and am preparing to sell the one I'm on.

Why you gotta hate Indiana? Aren't Zipp wheel made there? There's a nice American style restaurant chain in Paris named Indiana!
