Plenty of grazes, bruising and some lumps but nothing broken yet!! Yes the pain of getting gravel out of grazes is somewhat unbearable and they always scar too :-(

I've had the car door job done to me, the turn left in front of the cyclist and the nearly reversed into as well! joys of being a cyclist then hey! I wish they would LOOK where they are going and LOOk before they open the car door! esp on narrow roads!

Broken toes, sprained ankle from hell and fractured thighbone doing horse riding though!

Broken wrist, but technically I wasn't riding, more like uncontrolled flying, until I met the road
does that still count

No broken bones but I did rupture two lumbar disc and dislocate my spine. My hips were two inches to the right of where they should have been.
4.5 weeks in hospital in traction plus surgery to decompress the discs.

Gotta aggree with Timdanaher though - the time on Pethadine was ALMOST worth it!

In various incidents, cracked ribs, collar bone, bruises, severe gravel rash and dented ego.

As for the funny bone, it removed a drivers side mirror a few years back. I reckon the mirror must of been damaged before the incident. I just made it over to a tram stop and promptly doubled up in pain. (in Aus we ride on the left, similiar to the UK, this was at a intersection with 2 lanes, one turning left and one straight ahead).

The van driver stopped, came over and sincerely asked if I was ok. He wasn't bothered at all about the damage to his van. Which makes a big difference to the other incidents where car drivers were ignorant to what they had been involved with.....

Last year I flipped and broke my tailbone. It hurts to sit on a couch or hard chair, but thank god no pain while riding.

i took a pretty nasty spill about a year and a half ago.
i was coming down the hill on our college campus (narrow path, some blind corners) and to avoid hitting a pedestrian, i swerved a bit and ended up landing on my right knee. got up, tried to walk it off, went to class, and then i decided to go to the hospital. they diagnosed my fractured kneecap, put me in a cast, and i got back to school for my afternoon class.
a couple months later, got out of the cast (luckily no surgery required), and as soon as my PT got me to where i could bend my leg enough, i was back in the saddle

Have had my fair share of injuries, we calculated the other day in the 11 years of racing motocross i spent approx 286 days in hospital, the worst being a fractured back with 3 months in traction, and then later 5 knee operations to the left knee finaly replacing the standard medial collateral ligament with an aftermarket one. Have broken most the major bones, wrists, shoulders, collar bones, legs blah blah.
The funniest is when i gave up since i used to cycle for fitness, decided to take up mtb racing, wouldnt i get involved in down hill racing, and the injuries continued for a few years, not as bad though. Glad i've finally knocked some sense into myself and clamed down. Passion is a terrible disease. Though i think im one of the lucky ones.

Well if you are at the helm of those knitting needles I would probably say .. "yup" and my mum always told me to be careful when I was doing pearl/plain, pearl/plain making myself a Dr. Who scarf cos I could "poke somebody's eye out"! Just don't try to knit whilst riding that bike ..

Broke a finger when I was about 10 years old. Stupid me riding my BMX bike 15 miles to the river to jump off a ramp into the water, I shouldn't have tried to pass my friend on the shoulder of the road (why do they make those shoulders so small anyway?).
In another incedent I herniated two disks in my lower back between S1 and L5, L5 and L4. Rainy weather had washed out a downhill trail I thought I was familiar with but a 2 foot rut developed and tossed me hard over the bars. I now have constant back pain.
