Oh, okay, then. Kewl. Thanks for getting to the bottom of this. Now things can get back to normal.

And you can see what people have said about you when you click on the scales? I didn't mean it, really.

Not spreading enough reputation... are we talking about discourse or strawberry jam?

I cannot believe I'm "off the scale" when we all know I'm over the top....

Really...<sniff>...

Okay, problem, Sam. Now everybody else is going to be off the scale, and I am on a distinguished road. I don't know what I can count on any more in this crazy, mad, mad world. I knew I should have just stayed in bed this morning.

Yeah, reputation is a vbulletin thing. They had it running on the auto forum I hang out on, but they eventually took it off. The way it was set up over there, if enough people gave you negative rep, it would keep you from posting for a while. Kinda weird. Usually you can't give the same person rep twice in a row, and you have to spread it around over 20 users before you can give the same person rep again.

Not sure how it's set up here.

I think distinguished road is better than off the scale in terms of reputation, right?

No- off the scale certainly means a higher number of posts.

The weird thing about this is - why would I give anyone on a forum a 'bad' reputation. It's all about free speech! Even if someone tells me my opinions stink and I shouldn't have free speech - that's their right.

I clicked yours and gave the positive response - not sure if anyone has rated me. Maybe I wouldn't like the answer

Could be, but you have more posts than I do, and you defo have a reputation since I gave you positive feedback. I doubt I have a reputation yet - and have never seen any comments about my posts, in fact I wouldn't know where to find them.

I think "off the scale" is the default starting reputation, but I'm really only guessing.

Mr. Bertz, um, from one Texan to another, you certainly seem to have a mighty big bone to pick with France...

Does anyone know how this system will work here? It would be nice if someone explained this to us.

I'm not sure I like this system as it penalizes those of us who participate in the Soapbox. If someone doesn't like your POV then you will get negative rep points quite easily.
