Check out this website http://www.uci.ch/english/road/world...003M/index.htm There are 10 World Cup races over the course of the season. The first one is Milan-San Remo, another is Paris Roubaix. The first 25 finishers get points ranging from 100 for first to 1 for 25th for each race. All of the races are especially famous, difficult, or unique in some other way, and they're spread out over seven countries. The leader in the competition gets to wear a white jersey with vertical rainbow stripes - not quite as identifiable as the World Champion's jersey but still quite special. The leader's jersey could change after each of the 10 races, but this year Bettini and Van Petegem have been the only ones to wear it. |
