I used to do lots of flatland freestyle bmx from 1983 to 1990. The old school bikes are just great for flatland freestyle. Then in 2000 I bought a DiamondBack Viper, PK Ripper, Univega Super G, and Shwinn Powermatic Mag. They all can't compare to my 26 lb freestyle modded 1983 Hutch Pro Racer. I got an ebay 88 Haro Master - never rode it yet - got ripped off because it has a stretched headtube. How many here are into bmx? What do you got and what do you do? I'm in the process of building an old school Hutch Trickstar. Modern BMX bikes suck big time because they are overbuilt tanks that weigh > 31 lbs. So it's hard to jump and do 180's and 360's on them. |
