Heh, during my ride yesterday, I got called a "fag" for what amounted to tailgating a car.

I really didn't get why the passenger (I don't think it was the driver) was so pissed off about it.

It was. After the ZYM finally started to kick in, I also got an uplift from a group of pedestrians I passed who started chanting 'USA, USA, USA' when they saw the prints on my shorts...

It looks like about a quarter of your ride was spent riding around golf courses. That's just wrong on so many levels. I think Nature should aggressively take back the land blighted by golf courses.

There are two golf courses near where I live, that just happened to be near this route that I created 'on the fly' after I bonked, I was originally planning to go a different route that I created last weekend. One of those golf courses is reportedly gonna become the site of a movie studio. I don't ride through golf courses.

it's not a golf course, it's part of the route you just so happen to ride, golfers just happen to be there..

No one said it was. I said that he rode around some golf courses, meaning he rode parts of the perimeters of some golf courses. Either way, they're ruinous uses of land, golf courses are. Ugly as ugly can get.

My twilight ride today

With the help of an electrolyte-replacement drink I heard about from one of my Twitter followers, I set a personal pace record on this ride today.

ZYM. There are two versions.

The Endurance version is made in a lemon-lime flavor, only 7 calories, not a lot of sugar that can cause bloating. Boosts 4 electrolytes to help counteract 'the burn' - potassium, magnesium, calcium and sodium, plus Vitamin C and all the B vitamins.

The Catapult version is made in a berry flavor, only 4 calories, no sugar, all of the above plus Guarana, which adds caffeine for a quick energy boost.

I use the Endurance exclusively, I tried a sample of the Catapult and actually bonked during my last ride after drinking it, plus I ended up with some stomach irritation, which I suspect was from the caffeine.

One footnote - after dissolving the tabs, you might want to add some Splenda to taste.

You can order it from their website, some LBS's may carry it too.
