In addition to not supporting spam sites, I propose not encouraging the practice by giving them hits. The more people hit his site just after his spam post here, the more he will be encouraged to keep posting.

I do support Porn Spam because it's a totally safe thing to do.

OK, you want to save pennies to spend on bike accessories?
Here is a way to save bucks!!
Forget the store bought over-priced crap...make your own energy bars.
I modified this recipe from a hiking site to my personal taste...tastes great...is a big energy boost during the ride...and is dirt cheap.
Takeas around 15 minutes of your time to produce 24 cookies.
Shopping list :
Honey
Muesli
Dried fruit
Sugar
Crunchy Peanut Butter
You will not use all the items in one go.
Here is how it works out :
Place 3/4 cup of honey (130 gms) and 3/4 cup brown sugar (130 gms) in a saucepan and place on low heat, stirring until liquid.
Take saucepan off the heat.
Add the jar of crunchy peanut butter (375 gms) amd stir until melted.
Add 3 cups (325 gms) of breakfast muesli and mash in until well distributed.
Spoon out onto baking paper and press out with your hand to a square about the size of A4 computer paper.
Chop dried mango pieces (35 gms) and press into the mix.
Cover with another sheet of baking paper and place in refrigerator for 30 mins or thereabouts.
Cut into 24 pieces.
Each piece = 200 calories / 9 gms fat / 65 gms carbohydrate / 5 gms protein .
What did it cost?
Not enough for me to bother to work it out...as it would be insignificant.
Energy bars are on sale for $4 plus EACH with food colouring, emulsifiers, gum, preservative yada yada.
The breakfast muesli I bought had just about everything in it...choice is up to you.
The CFP figures were taken from the nutrition data on the back of the packs adjusted for the amounts I used.

Ouch! I get Powerbars and Clif bars at the supermarket for $1.25 - $1.50 (USD)each, and I can easily find them cheaper in cases.

That is a reasonable cost...and the convenience of occasionally picking one off the shelf has it's attractions.
However the point remains...why not make your own?
30 minutes of your time will produce a month's supply...assuming one a day.
No gum, food colouring, preservative, emulsifiers but rather the fresh ingredients of your choice and taste.
The savings over a year can be substantial.
Why not allocate those funds to where it will really make a difference....tires, wheelsets etc?

i know what your saying but clif / luna bars and the shot bloks etc are all natural ingredients too, as are many others, there is no fat, no animal products,no colourings, flavours,no trans fats, all natural sugars....so a ready made done bar with everything all in there inc vitamins and minerals the bars are great.

I have worked out my savings from buying from them and they are substantial in comparison so many other internet sites. know i am sticking to buying them instead of cooking every other week.

Supplements and steroids are for tour de france cry babies and madison avenue ugs. I got my supplement garden a mile from me, in Win Dixie. They have apples, pears, tomatoes, cucumbers, and a lot more. Further more, I feel sorry for people who chew on those supplements, instead of enjoying a healthy warm meal.

Did you know that 90% of all the supplements you take are not absorbed? That means for every $100 you spend on that stuff you are throwing out $90. Not to mention damage done to your organs.

Supplements are fraud my friends, just like bottled water.

1. $1-1.50 can be worth it if your time is more valuable to you.

2. Prove that your all natural ingredients are healthier than non- "all natural" ingredients. Do this while keeping in mind that recent studies have shown that all natural foods haven't shown any benefit over their counterparts.
