Default Question for the French here

Just back from a weeks holiday in France.

Before asking the question - I've got to say that France is a beautiful country.
Fifth visit to France : spent 4 days on the Cote D'Azur, and 4 days in Paris.
Weather in both locations was very good - plenty to see and do in both locations.
Cuisine was lovely.
Very very good trip.
Thoroughly recommend France as a holiday destination.

A question for the french members here.
Paris - do people rent their accomodation as opposed to buying their accomodation?
Met several people throughout the Paris leg of the holiday and each of them were renting apartments.
This begged the question, do French people rent more as opposed to buying property?

Thanks in advance.
