The Nissan Xterra has a special rack to hold two bikes in the back. xterra interior rack I like the idea of keeping my bikes in my car to keep them safe. |

I used to toss my fully assembled mtb in the back of my '96 hardtop Firebird with the rear seat folded down. It left plenty of room for a little luggage behind the rear suspension towers (where T-Tops would have been stored had I had any), and extra room on top of the rear seat back. Didn't obscure any rearward vision, either. Then I got married and had kids. Now I have two choices: fold down the rear seats in the '97 VW Jetta, or put the bike in the back of the Chevy Venture minivan (must remove the third row, though). It hurts. It really hurts. I'm going to go cry now. ![]() BTW, does anyone drive a Scion xB yet? I wonder if it's big enough with the rear seats folded to hold a fully assembled bike upright? (Yes, I'm that kind of person that thinks a washing machine on wheels is, um..., 'unique' enough to be cool.) |

Gotta say I love my Chevy s10 for transporting a bike or three. Since I have an extened cab I can store things in there. Also, I used to work as a wrench at a local shop and can remember putting a brand new Thule rack, on a brand new Toyota land cruser, that in turn carried a brank new Bianchi. Two weeks later all three met the the car port. Guess what won.
