Okay, now, this is strictly NOMB, but what I'm wondering is why 22 kph? Man, that's pretty slow. On my water buffalo, a good clip is around 27; 22 is really on the slow end, and 32-33 is when I'm really moving (like in traffic). What is the deal with 22kph?

I mean, I'm just curious, maybe she needs a riding buddy to push her averages up a little? Or could she be out there only because she knows you will be coming along?

Only one way to find out - you must talk to her, and promptly report back all the details. She will be thrilled to know how many people are waiting to find out if she's more than just another pretty girl on a bike!

Hi Sara, yup 22kph is waaayyyyy slow... but she is riding a real tank of a bike (I'd estimate 1.7 metric tons ). Oh and I have spoken with her and she's wwwaaayyyyy more that just a pretty girl Hence the quandary... cruise along with a goddess or fly low at high-speed alone. God I love this sport

You can get some of those leather tassles that Harley Davidson riders have on their bikes. (It lets them know when they're moving.) hehe.

We're not worthy, we're not worthy. . .

Ahhh, so you have spoken. You have gone beyond the point where eye candy speaks; this is an important moment, because, as we all know, sometimes eyecandy opens its mouth and shatters your every illusion about that person. Apparently, this is quite not the case, glad to hear it.

So now you just have to figure out some earnest invitation, on a ride, for example, or ask her for help... or mention her tire looks underinflated, could you give her a hand... you probably don't need advice on that one.

And once you've broken the ice, and of course, gotten the girl, you will be able to shift back into high-speed commuting and enjoy your candy too, because of course she wil be reasonable and not expect you to wait - or she'll get a new bike so she can keep up with you.

One last question, are you sure she's not out there on that tank of a bike because she spotted this gorgeous guy who rides that way at a predictable time of day? Coincidence? Methinks not.

Solve your problem, get a tandem!!!!! One of two things may happen...eternal honeymoon or a straight and direct ride to the divorce court!!!!!!! Nothing in between will work.

Keep those wheels spinning

Hey Lab-Rat! I was meaning to tell you that I dig your quote: "Despite all my rage..." I take it you're a fan of the Pumpkins then?

Abs-bloody-lutely,

Less-go, of course we're just looking at the bike. . . not. But if we had to say, " nice legs, wanna go for a ride" I'm afraid we'd get interpreted all wrong, as opposed to " nice bike, wanna go for a ride" hehe.

By the way, you still owe me a picture on the Members Mugshot Thread, with your bike of course.

Ok...here's the update: (Sara I may need your opinion on this one as well - I know what the guys are going to say... ) I went out for a beer with the aforementioned blonde goddess last night and it was a great - Anyway we all got a bit sloshed and she mentioned to me that she may not be in a state to get up in the morning to go cycle...Soooo I jokingly offered to come around to her place to "kick her lazy ass out of bed" and she said "Cool see you at about 5:40am"...Unfortunately there's a twist in the tale the size of Nebraska: I didn't go - I figured she was drunk and was just joking back...

The verdict therefore is:
(a) I did the right thing I don't need to commit ritual suicide
(b) I'm a barking, certifiable idiot who should be dragged outside and beating into a wet pulp with a stale french-loaf
(c) I'm a bad, sad slow lad who couldn't spot a hint if it was attached to the business end of a cattle-prod and shoved up my ass
(d) other... (please specify)
