You did not figure she was just drunk, i say you were just a combo of a and b... you don't need to commit suicide, but you're a little bad ans sad - not because she was inviting you to do something scandalous, but because you missed a chance to show her you're a man (sorry, don't know your age, but I'm assuming) or a lad of a) your word and b) your word, by dragging your lazy ass out of bed and going.

Of course she was probably highly relieved you didn't show, but do not waste too much time getting back to her, maybe even go now...

Have to get the chillen off to school and then I shall take a harder look at this pressing question....

BTW, she's a beer-drinker? How good can this story get? A beautiful, beer drinking + bike riding woman is a thing to be revered. More details please... and ages here, just for info.

...beer-drinking, bike-riding, funny, intelligent, gorgeous, intoxicating, naughty...(sigh)...I am smitten...

...oh and my lazy ass was cycling at 5:30am this morning

Well, then, if you actually did go riding, I take back my allegation that you have a lazy posterior. That is actually quite something for one who's been out all night beer-drinking. You're a bigger man than I.

God, she sounds great, I'd like to meet her ;-). I have a Dutch-French all-girl (some) cycling and (plenty of) beer-drinking team going here, and we're always on the look-out for worthy members.

Well, I don't really think you need advice, sounds like you're doing just fine all on your own. 1970,eh? I figured you were another one of these whippersnappers born in some wildly recent year like 1984.

So are you afraid there must be a catch - a psychotic ute driving boyfriend with bad teeth and a nasty temper?

I think you can take it from here, but I will tune in to hear news on the developing story. I wish I'd been out drinking beer last night with some hot (hot does not refer here to a strict physical description - hot comes seering through from inside) cyclist. Some girls have all the luck.

I'd suggest that you've messed up but not beyond redemption....

Its always hard to know whether or not a girl likes you and even harder if you are drunk.

I'd say that there is going to be an awkward moment or two when you see her again but if she still talks to you then for gods sake don't stuff around!

PS don't mention to her that you are discussing this on a public forum or she will skin you alive... and on that note i'd keep her away from this site altogether!!!

"PS don't mention to her that you are discussing this on a public forum or she will skin you alive... and on that note i'd keep her away from this site altogether!!!"

He can always ask for the entire thread to be deleted. Although it would make a great story to tell the great-grandchildren, and he has been quite the gentleman on the subject. It's not like he mentioned body parts or shared tawdry fantasies! It was sweet, really.

But, naaah, he didn't mess up to bad, i don't think. Unless you guys believe her invitation was more of a drop-by-and-join-me-in-bed -- which I seriously doubt -- she was either a) joking, as Steve surmised... or b)ready and waiting to go for a bike ride, which Steve did not surmise.

Just in case, I'd contact her immediately - I mean, what if she actually dragged her butt out of bed and was waiting there??? Clear up any misunderstanding, ASAP... I think he's already out doing it, else he'd respond, right Steve?

Default Re: Eye Candy vs Serious Training

I'm in New Hampshire (US) where currently my training consists of Cross Country skiing. Still too cold to be outside but so spin in the gym. There is usually plenty of eye-candy in the gym though, usually doing cardio. Speed, intensity, heart-rate, wattage, VO2 matter little when your stationary, also, the view seldom changes.
I kind of like the suggestion of becoming her coach. You could probably be a little more "hands-on" in the gym....you know....spotting her during squats, lunges. etc. Hamstring curls are always enjoyable to watch!!

Anybody out there have any good information on racing in Belgium? I off to Belgium in April. Will be there for 2+ weeks. Planning on watching the La Fleche Wallone and the Liege-Bastogne-Liege. I also want to race as frequently as possible in the Kermesses. I am looking for all advice on how to get the most from this trip. Cheers, Davide

A salvageable (c), I reckon, although I don't think it was a drop-by-and-join-me-in-bed kind of hint either.

Perhaps you can blame the no-show on the elephant.

Actually, she might think it's a bit of a laugh. If she speaks to him again, anyway.

Wise move, taking it offline... Although I bet that she'd find it flattering... By the way, does this mean no more breaking news alerts on your private life? What am I going to do for fun now?

Oh, ya, that's right, I'll go ride my bike!

Can't really take a picture of myself, now can I? And I almost always ride alone...

Is it being guy candy that has you feeling so exposed? It's a tough job, but somebody's got to do it.

hahaha - Don't worry Sara I'll find another way to get 600+ hits on a thread... If you have time check out my web-site (the link should be somewhere on my profile...) - there's an article there under Life (without Parole) called Mission Impossible that you may find amusing...

On another note: I think if there's no picture forth-coming soon you can always come down to good Afrique du Sud sometime for a training ride with ol' Lab-Rat...I'm sure he won't mind

hehehe, yeah, one day when I eventually get my bike back. I've been doing all my interval training on a MTB (with off-road tires) trying to keep up with the roadies I normally ride with, coz I managed to break my bike. . . quite comprehensively I might add.

Yeah Less-go, come to the good olde Afrique and ride with us. . . There's a nice "little" fun ride in March every year called the Argus. It has something like 30 000 participants and enough eye candy for all of us.

Yes but after what I've heard about you South African men, I'm afraid I wouldn't last long in the outback ;-)...

Or is it the bush in Afrique du Sud?
