Angry Bad drivers attitudes (UK)

AARRGGHH! I can't believe how bad some moronic drivers attitudes are!

Last night on a quick cycle ride down to Dawlish from Exeter, - there were 6 of us. This group of total chavs in a chav-mobile were trying to overtake us on the hill after Dawlish Waren. He kept beeping his horn persistantly, so we moved aside and rode single file to let him past. As he overtook - the passengers shouted and jeered out the car window.

We asked them to pull over but they wouldn't and instead insisted on driving slowley in front of us to make some kind of "I've got the car .. I've got the power" point to us.

It makes me very dispondant when I see this kind of behaviour almost every day. Peoples attitudes to cyclists need to change.

Check out this thread and see what I mean -

This womans comment amazes me!

Motorcyclists and cyclists are a complete pain in the **** anyway. Im sure they want to get knocked off half the time.

I admit I made a mistake I was in the wrong lane. But there was no need for the tirade I got!!
Please make some comments to her, I know I will! Thanks all

Whats the point. Having a look at some of her current replies she will never accept that she isnt right!

I live and commute by bike in London and everyday i see BAD examples of driving some that have resulted in major close calls with myself or colleagues but i see just as many BAD examples of riding by commuters on bicycles. I am not surprised that some motorists dont respect as us road users considering the way what is sometimes a majority of us ride on public roads.

Quite a few drivers, almost everywhere, are poor drivers. Take a look at these youtube videos:

In Russia: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZkXJ4spHgO0
In Dubai: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6kJ8Nw_XYoI
US, California: apparently the pylons and tail lights of stopped vehicles
aren't enough to prevent cars from overdriving their headlights, resulting in a
multi-car pileup.

It must be hard to see that bus coming, why not pull out in front?

They seem to misjudge the turn sharpness:

The train and stopped car don't seem to register with this semi driver. The car even tries to get out of the way and help the rig clear before it's too late.

Thumbs down Re: Bad drivers attitudes (UK)

It's the same or worse in the US. Here they like to tear by you missing by about a foot, changing lanes if required to get at you. Other than mandatory psychiatric screening for all drivers i see no answer. Probably part of the same mentality that likes to invade other countries.
