Default Trek OCLV 110 or Giant TCR

Does anyone have any information on the difference (advantages/disadvantages) in these frames?

Like what? Other than which might fit you best.

I just recently purchased a Madone SL with the OCLV 110 and it is one of the smoothest machines I've ridden. Riding out here in So. California, the roads are pretty thrashed after all the storms, but the bike rides like butter over all the bumps.

The Madone is real responsive when you mash the pedals for a sprint and when you're climbing, and rides comfortable on long stretches. I'm real happy with the bike.

I've never ridden a Giant TCR so I can't really compare. I'm sure TCR owners will have differing opinions about which is the better bike. I guess the best thing is to take both bikes out for a good test ride if you're really interested. Good luck.

I buy American when I can. Both are fine products. Giant has sloping top tube. Very popular frames, but if I had a choice, I'd try to find something that not EVERYONE is riding. At least my OCLV frame has old school graphics (1995 Saturn Silver). The new TREK bikes all look alike to the point that I get sick of seeing them! I wish more people could afford Colnagos to appease my desire to see beautiful frames.

You know what they say about the difference between a cactus and a BMW? With a BMW,the pricks are on the inside. Maybe you ought to try a ford.Mine always gets from point A to point B. Isn't that what it's all about unless you are some kind of prick. But I have 2 Colnagos.Does that help you have a better day?

I'm having a great day and there is really nothing that you could do to bother it in any way. I am amused mostly. BTW, do you ride your Colnagos? I'm starting to change my opinion of them in any case. Ford? Really? Why on Earth would I do that? I just couldn't see it happening. And that joke is still funny even after hearing it 20,000 times. A classic.......

Well, for every action there is an equal and opposite action. I try NOT to buy American when I can...

That said, I drive a Jeep Cherokee!

Oh, back on the topic - I ride a TCR Composite (designed in America and made in Taiwan) and it is a beautiful ride!

Have to recommend the Giant. I have a TCR (actually 2. I liked the first so much I bought another). Also have the OCLV. But the OCLV is now hanging unbuilt. The Giants have just the right amount of compliance. For me, it's like the fun and feedback of aluminum or steel, with none of the harshness. The Trek is the most unexciting frame I've ridden. Stiff, comfortable. Sure. And boring. Giant has an ad somewhere that says stiff is good, too stiff isn't. I agree with that.
That said, The OCLV is still a very good frame. I rode Treks for years before switching. Lifetime warranty (which they honored twice for me over the years). I don't know about that side of Giant. I'm hoping I never have to find out.
