Rep Power: 0 | | advise: white skinsuits hi
i am working for a cycle messenger company in nyc. i have to organise and to order working clothes and to trait with the sponsor. the cycle messenger company includes a cycling club with guys, who are no messengers.
fortunatelly i found a big sponsor, which would pay for all clothes: armwarmes, windbrackes, long tights and all that stuff. the sponsor would pay so much, that i could give all clothes for free to the cyclists.
the sponsor consists of that its sponsored clothed were worn for every work shift, race or training. the sponsor already has its own design for the clothes and it consists of skinsuits, neither bibshorts nor tricots. the sponsors design is a complete white skinsuit with its logos on breast, back and outside the tighs. the design looks pretty cool.
i organise something like that for the first time. i am not sure, which things are important. i also know that skinsuits more unpopular by cyclists and especially cycle messengers. because i dont want to get in hot water by asking the messengers if they would like to wear skinsuits, i ask here in this forum, what you think about it:
+which bike wear producer would you advise?
+did you ever wear a white skinsuit? if yes, for what do you have to pay attention to know that it is a good one?
+do you like to wear skinsuits? would it be ok. to wear a skinsuit for every shift, race or training?
+do you have experience as a cyclist or messenger, to wear (only) skinsuits for cycling and messenging?
thanks for you answers

I'd remind the sponsor that cyclists typically don't wear underwear, and I'd also refer them to this post: http://www.cyclingforums.com/t202362...-be-black.html (see picture).
Another suggestion -- get bibs and jerseys vs. a bodysuit. They'll look the same, but be more comfortable and user-friendly. And when the pads/bibs wear out you don't have to replace the whole thing. White skinsuits...yikes. |

However, you live in NYC ........ where it rains, mud will kick up... and get those skin suits caca-colored. Not good.
I recommend yellow or red bib-shorts(something of quality... its a very important garment.. in that it makes contact to your saddle-something you rest you toosh on for "X" amount of minutes/hours per day). You want something as comfortable as possible (ie. CAstelli Y3 stuff, with the comfort Temp. synthetic chamois is the ultimate IMO).
ALSO, you have to think versitility, and having either a long/short sleave jersey w/ 3 rear pockets is ideal - and if you can get the front zipper to zip 100% down (perfect for hot days , or to get your jersey one/off.. helps).

6th from the top seems quite funky . . . but a completely white skin suit ! <shudder>
I'd echo the comments about whether your clients would be keen to your messengers in their offices dressed like that, especially on a rainy day. |
