any good? i dont have much money, and right now im riding a mongoose road bike, and its a little big and well, its a mongoose any way, would this be a good beginer bike? any other suggestions of affordable bikes? thanks

Don't be ashamed of riding a Mongoose! They actually made some pretty nice road bikes at one time. The Allez comp is an extremely nice mid price road bike. The Comp only comes in 18 or 27 speeds. Perhaps you are meaning the Allez (24 speed)? It is still a nice entry level bike.
