Default Clipless/spd/other help

Hello, I am way overdue on purchasing new clipless pedals. For the last 9 months I have been riding (very hard) on Ritchey comp shimano spd compatible pedals. The bearings are extremely loose
I need to buy new pedals stat, weight is unimportant, but I need something very durable as I am 6'7", 230lbs. I ride every day for 9-10 hours in New York city without brakes (track bike) so the durability is key as I use the pedals to stop. If anyone could drop any suggestions on me that would be great. Whether its spd or time, I don't really care, as long as it is very, very strong.
